Can Tho Market, which has been hundreds of years old, was built in the same time with some big markets in Ho Chi Minh City such as Ben Thanh Market, Binh Tay Market. This is considered to be the most beautiful market in the Mekong Delta, where the goods is concentrated and traded in the Southwestern region, associated with old habits of the people here. The market is open every day from 7 a.m to 8 p.m.

According to the records, Can Tho Market was built around 1915, but many years ago, it was degraded. Then, the market was invested to embellish and preserve the status of ancient architecture from the French colonial period. The building was inaugurated on the occasion of April 30, 2005.

The market is designed both modern and ancient; the front views to Hai Ba Trung Street and the back is Hau River. The market sells all kinds of goods, from traditional handicrafts to agricultural and aquatic products processed by Song Hau Farm.
