Cave Pagoda, also known as Phuoc Dien Pagoda, a famous place of An Giang province, a National Historical Vestige of Vietnam, is located on the slopes of Sam mountain, Chau Doc city. With pure and calm beauty, Cave Pagoda is an interesting destination for visitors who love the beauty of An Giang.
From the foot of the mountain to Cave Pagoda, there are many sidesteps that is both easy to walk and creates the beauty among the stone blocks. The distance is long enough for people to walk, then stop to breath the fresh air, admire the scenery of high pagoda or watch the immense fields.
In front of the pagoda, there are two colorful, harmonious and elaborately carved stupas, standing majestically on the mountainside. The front of the pagoda and the main hall was rebuilt to be more spacious and artistic. In the middle of the temple, there are a lot of Buddha statues. Especially, there is a massive column with the high over 20m. Under the sidestep of the temple are two cement lions which are quite lively. On July 10, 1980, the Ministry of Culture and Information of Vietnam made a decision to recognize Cave Pagoda (Phuoc Dien Pagoda) as a National Historical Vestige of Vietnam.
