08h00 - Pick-up in Can Tho City

Our guide and private car pick you up at your hotel in the center of Can Tho City and begin a journey into the peaceful countryside of Tra Vinh - a region known for its Khmer culture, traditional crafts and unique local specialties.

🌾 1. Cang Long Lac Fields – The Kingdom of Lac

Travel through the countryside to Cang Long, where vast fields of lac - a local sedge used for weaving - stretch along the Co Chien River.

Discover how this humble grass has become an important part of local life. For generations, local families have used lac to make mats, cushions, baskets, partitions and other traditional handicrafts, some of which are made for export.

Take a short walk around the fields and learn about the traditional harvesting and processing of lac.

🥥 2. Cau Ke Wax Coconut Museum

Continue to Cau Ke, the home of one of Tra Vinh's most distinctive agricultural products - wax coconut.

Upon arrival at the Tra Vinh Macapuno Coconut Museum, tourists are relax by the fresh air from the surrounding lush green coconut garden, the soothing music combined with the sound of wind chimes, and the unique architecture that harmoniously blends tradition and modernity, showcasing the cultural intersection of the Kinh, Khmer and Hoa ethnicities. Tourists visit:

• The Reception Area: Furnished with bamboo tables and chairs from the traditional handicraft village of Tra Vinh. Tourists relax, enjoy warm tea, and multi-favoured macapuno candies. They will also immerse themselves in films of "The Legend of Macapuno Coconut, A Century of Origins, Going to Return".

• Macapuno Coconut Ancestor Shrine: Tourists will immerse themselves in a sacred space where three cultures - Kinh, Khmer and Hoa - converge and interact. Additionally, they will receive fascinating insights and surprising information about the macapuno and the heartland here.

• Enter to the Gallery of Macapuno Legend and explore:
  • Three spaces: Agriculture - Macapuno Legend - Modernity.
  • The origins of macapuno through artifacts, especially the relic of the first stump in Vietnam covered with a ceremonial Buddhist robe and the wax statue of Ancestor Venerable Thach So.
  • The hidden stories behind the journey of macapuno in the heartland.

🏡 4. Cau Ke Old House – A Glimpse of Old Southern Vietnam

After lunch, visit a beautiful traditional old house in Cau Ke.

Step inside to discover the architecture, family history and lifestyle of a traditional Southern Vietnamese household.

The old house provides a wonderful contrast to the surrounding countryside - showing how generations of local families lived, worked and preserved their heritage.

🎭 5. Meet a Khmer Mask Artisan

Our final cultural experience takes place at the workshop of artisan Lâm Phên, who has devoted many years to the traditional craft of making Khmer masks.

Meet the artisan personally and discover the meaning behind the masks used in Khmer cultural performances.

You can:

• See traditional Khmer masks being made
• Discover the tools and techniques used by the artisan
• See traditional Khmer musical instruments handmade by him
• If time permits, try your hand at one step of the mask making process

This personal encounter offers a rare opportunity to meet a local craftsman and experience Tra Vinh's living Khmer heritage.

🚗 14:00 – Return to Can Tho City

End the journey and return to your hotel in central Can Tho City.
